Facoltà teologica dell’Italia centrale
La Facoltà Teologica dell’Italia Centrale ha sede a Firenze; essa è stata fondata con il decreto “Florentiae, clarissima in urbe” ed eretta dalla Congregazione per l’Educazione Cattolica l’8 settembre 1997, ma le sue radici attraversano secoli di studi teologici, e affondano nel medioevo (1348) quando con una bolla di Clemente VI fu costituito lo “Studium generale florentinum”.
Lo scopo di tale Facoltà è duplice:
• elaborare in maniera più ampia e approfondita la riflessione sulla fede in modo da costituirsi come punto di riferimento sia per le Chiese e le loro problematiche teologiche, sia per tutti coloro che, credenti e non credenti, avvertono il bisogno di approfondire il sapere teologico e confrontarsi con il pensiero cristiano;
• preparare dottori in teologia in grado di adempiere alle necessità dell’insegnamento nelle diverse istituzioni accademiche e non accademiche.
Theological Faculty of Central Italy
The Theological Faculty of Central Italy is based in Florence; it was founded with the decree “Florentiae, clarissima in urbe” by the Congregation for Catholic Education on September 8, 1997, but its roots pass through centuries of theological studies, and are embedded in the Middle Ages (1348) when a bull by the pope Clement VI established the “Studium generale florentinum”: the first University of Florence.
The purpose of this Faculty is twofold:
• elaborate in a broader and deeper way the reflection on faith so as to become a reference point both for the Churches and their theological problems, and for all those who, believers and non-believers need deeper theological knowledge and a confrontation with the Christian thought;
• prepare doctors in theology able to fulfill the needs of teaching in different academic and non-academic institutions
